JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Clinician will work in partnership and under the direction of our Chief Clinical Officer (CCO), supporting two (2) key areas of Clinical Services to improve the delivery of patient care: (1) Lead Clinician and (2) Serving as a Preceptor. The position provides strong leadership and clinical collaboration/oversight of Clinicians (APRNs, PAs, CNMs) and Registered Nurses throughout the affiliate ensuring that Clinicians and Registered Nurses on boarded, trained and oriented to providing patient care under our Medical Standards and Guidelines (MS&G’s). Also, serves as a medical resource for unlicensed staff. This role requires travel up to 25% to all Health Centers within our affiliate.

Lead Clinician:

  • Comply with the principal responsibilities of PPTNM Clinician job description.
  • Oversee, schedule and participate in the “On Call” rotation for the emergency call line.
  • In coordination with Health Center Managers, manage/oversee licensed staff’s schedules including Clinician on-call schedule.
  • Act as ongoing resource to Health Center Manager, clinic staff, and other Clinicians and RNs.
  • Oversee utilization of medications, use of controlled medications, and the emergency carts at all health centers.
  • Meet clinic productivity goals and assists other Clinicians and RN’s in meeting clinical and follow-up goals.
  • Participate in training Medical Assistants/Health Care Assistants (as needed) in conjunction with the Health Center Manager.
  • Show interest and involvement in the total agency.
  • Contribute to achieving health enter productivity goals.
  • Responsible for routine/regular Health Center site visits throughout the affiliate to assist in ensuring quality assurance standards, clinical skill assessments and audit/training needs.
  • Employee Health Nurse duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Precepting:

  • Responsible for the clinical training and onboarding of all new Clinicians and RNs (follow-up processes)
  • Provide clinical leadership by teaching, coaching, and consulting on clinical/case management issues for Clinicians and Registered Nurses
  • Address Clinician and RN training, re-training, and/or remediation in conjunction with the CCO.
  • Work with CCO and CMO to ensure all Clinicians and RNs are privileged and proctored as appropriate.
  • In collaboration with the CCO, responsible for leading the facilitation of monthly and/or quarterly Clinician and RN meetings.
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the affiliate by adhering to established affiliate policies and practices.
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance and in-service training for licensed and un-licensed staff on an as needed basis in collaboration with the CCO and Health Center Managers.
  • Consult with the CCO and provide regular updates regarding clinical services management – related to Clinicians and RNs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Graduate level degree in related field

Experience: Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Clinician and 2-3 years of management experience in a healthcare setting.

Other Requirements:

  • Current National Certification as APRN, PA or CNM
  • CPR Certification
  • ACLS certification

  • Physical assessment including Pap smear collection and pelvic exam and other gynecological exams.
  • Ultrasound operation and interpretation.

  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Able to bend and stoop continuously for up to 6 hours.
  • Able to work with chemicals such as alcohol, bleach, disinfectant, detergents.
  • Able to stand up to 6 hours at a time.
  • Able to assist a semi-conscious adult from a wheelchair to a bed.
  • Able to work in high stress emergency situations and maintain composure under stress.
