As the Lead Medical Assistant, you will under the direction of, and in partnership with the Practice Manager to assist in leading clinical operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and patient-centered care at our health centers. This role is pivotal in optimizing patient flow, enhancing service delivery, and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability across clinical and administrative teams.
You will support the coordination of real-time clinic workflow, assist with staffing coordination, and serve as a lead support to the Practice Manager—creating a positive and empowering experience for both patients and staff.

- Coordinate day-to-day patient flow to ensure timely care, reduced wait times, and exceptional service.
- Continuously assess patient charts, prioritize cases, and optimize exam room utilization using staffing models and productivity benchmarks.
- Adjust clinic services as needed to accommodate walk-ins and reduce wait times.
- Serve as a key point of communication between clinical and administrative staff to maintain effective, team-based care delivery.
- Incorporate EMR (EPIC) usage for efficient patient tracking and flow.
- Provide on-site leadership in the absence of the Practice Manager
- Adjust and monitor staff schedules to maintain optimal staffing levels and break coverage.
- Support the Supervisor with staff scheduling, daily assignments, and posting clinic roles.
- Assist with staff orientation, training, and evaluation of Medical Assistants (CMAs) and Front office Assistants (FOAs).
- Mentor and train team members to uphold patient flow procedures and clinical quality standards.
- Perform MA-level duties when needed, including pregnancy testing, lab collection, and delivering results.
- Ensure exam rooms and supply stations are fully stocked and organized.
- Oversee monthly inventory counts and coordinate with procurement for supply management.
- Contribute to achieving clinic productivity and revenue cycle goals.
- Support the Practice Manager in ensuring services are in compliance with all relevant state, federal and accreditation standards and laws.

- Completion of a Medical Assistant program, CMA certification, equivalent clinical experience, or substantial on-the-job training.
- CPR/BLS certification required.
- Minimum two (3) years of experience in a healthcare setting; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong background in customer service, clinic operations, or patient flow management.
- Passion for reproductive healthcare and alignment with PPTNM’s mission and values.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communicator with a team-first mindset.
- Detail-oriented and organized with a strong sense of accountability.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
- Able to stand for extended periods (up to 6 hours).
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor level and 25 lbs overhead.
- Able to bend, stoop, and assist patients with mobility needs.
- Work with common cleaning agents and disinfectants.
- Competitive Compensation $25-26/hr – Based on experience and qualifications.
